Obama bypassing Congress with Iran nuclear deal

The Obama administration is reportedly making feverish attempts to strike what some critics consider a disastrous nuclear agreement with Iran without Congressional ratification.

BROOKINGS, Ore. - Oct. 27, 2014 - PRLog -- Saudi Arabia and Israel, which are briefed by the U.S. State Department, have stated that the Obama administration is working on a deal which would allow Iran to maintain its nuclear infrastructure and maintain up to 5,000 uranium enrichment centrifuges. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has implored the President to require Iran to dismantle its centrifuges. However, leaks allege the U.S. is about to make a deal which will slowly lift tough sanctions, and leave Iran as a threshold nuclear power.

Wendy Sherman, architect of the appeasement disaster in North Korean nuclear negotiations, apparently believes Iran is dealing in “good faith”. The Obama administration has ignored concerns of officials in U.S. intelligence who are worried if a weak deal is reached with Iran, they will use covert enrichment to produce nuclear weapons.

The U.S. Constitution gives the president the power to make treaties only with the advice and consent of two-thirds of the Senate. However, because the Obama administration does not believe it can obtain the needed votes, the Treasury Department has determined the president can suspend economic sanctions with an executive order, without Congressional approval.

The New York Times reports that if a deal is struck with Iran, and Congress overcomes a presidential veto with new sanctions, President Obama will use his executive privilege and not enforce Congressional sanctions. Even if the Republicans take the Senate in November, few believe they would have the votes to impeach the President for violating the Constitution and by-passing Congress.

If a final deal is negotiated with Iran by the current November 27 deadline, or is delayed until January, 2015, it appears a deal will eventually be made. Iran could stall talks forever, and build a bomb, but sanctions have hurt their economy. Apparently the Obama administration is making an offer they can’t refuse, he is offering both a path to a bomb, and the removal of sanctions.

However, Israel has stated they will not be subject to any deal made by the U.N Security Council plus Germany, or any back channel deals made by President Obama. They have reportedly received flyover rights from Saudi Arabia and have access to an air base to refuel in Azerbaijan. Like Neville Chamberlin, President Obama may obtain a treaty, but some critics believe Iran’s nuclear ambitions will not be stopped with treaties, and eventually Israel will defend itself.

Jesus said in Matthew 24:6 “And you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that you be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.” Peace will not come without the Prince of Peace.
