Local Scottsdale AZ Woman Summits Mt. Kilimanjaro as Part of Her Bucket List

Jenny Gadow, of Scottsdale, AZ, summited Mt. Kilimanjaro in July 2014 with adventure travel tour operator Adventures Within Reach

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Oct. 1, 2014 - PRLog -- Boulder, CO, October 1, 2014:  Climbing to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro is something everyone should have on their bucket list.  And Jenny Gadow, of Scottsdale, AZ, can cross that off of her list now.  In July 2014, Gadow reached the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro (19,340 ft.), which is the tallest mountain in Africa, and the highest freestanding mountain in the world.  To summit Mt. Kilimanjaro, Gadow and her adventurous friend, Melinda Webster, traveled the Machame Route with adventure travel outfitter Adventures within Reach (adventureswithinreach.com).

The Machame Route, also known as the Whiskey Route, is the most popular route on the mountain. The trek is not a technical climb, but summit day is long, strenuous, and at an incredibly high elevation.  Nonetheless, "Kilimanjaro is our most popular trek," says Robin Paschall, owner of Adventures Within Reach.  "Of the famous 'Seven Summits,' this is the easiest to get to and to climb.  It requires no technical climbing experience, and a moderately fit person can summit the mountain with training and perseverance.  Most people add a cultural tour like a safari before or after their trek.  This is really a trip of a lifetime."  See http://adventureswithinreach.com/tanzania/kilimanjaro/ for details about climbing Kilimanjaro.

Gadow is a world traveler, having gone to Italy, China, Japan, Greece, Canada, and, of course, Africa with her summit climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro.  Gadow said, “The trip was incredible.  It was the hardest thing I have ever done both emotionally and physically but it was also so rewarding.”  She added,” I am proud that the law is my career but travel and new experiences is my life.”  Gadow is with the law firm Fromm, Smith & Gadow, P.C. and she specializes in family law.

Before summiting Mt. Kilimanjaro, Gadow and Webster also went on a three day safari (http://adventureswithinreach.com/tanzania/safari/overview...).  The three day safari took them to three of Tanzania's best areas for wildlife viewing, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, and Tarangire. Lake Manyara is ideal for viewing birdlife with over 400 species. Ngorongoro is the largest intact crater in the world abundant with wild game including elephants, rhinos, cheetahs, lions, leopards, and hyenas. Tarangire is a beautiful park filled with baobabs and acacias with a large variety of game such as zebras, elephants, giraffes, and waterbuck.
