CoatsDirect.com to launch Coat-for-Coat Initiative for New Yorkers in need

NEW YORK - Sept. 30, 2014 - PRLog -- September 30 2014, New York NY: CoatsDirect.com, a new online website that sells discounted brand outerwear from labels including Betsey Johnson, Nautica, Perry Ellis, Laundry and Buffalo, has partnered with Services for the Underserved (SUS) in a Coat-for-Coat campaign. Starting October, for every coat sold on CoatsDirect.com one will be donated to a person served by the human services organization.

“We are excited to partner with Coats Direct,” said Donna Colonna, CEO of SUS. “As the season changes, a warm coat means a lot to our residents. Many are coming out of homelessness and may not have otherwise been able to afford quality winter wear.”

“Every year over 1200 Americans die from exposure to cold weather,” said Louis Levy, founder of CoatsDirect.com. “When we realized how many lives were affected by the unusual cold weather, we knew we had to take action and that’s when the Coat-for-Coat campaign was born. ”

CoatsDirect.com’s Coat-for-Coat campaign was launched in response to last year’s polar vortex. By providing coats for those in need, it will provide relief from the cold and from the stress of needing to survive. What began as a simple idea has evolved into a powerful business model, “helping New Yorkers in need.” Coats Direct hopes to grow the Coat-forCoat initiative globally by 2016.
