Show your Manufacturing Pride; Get Your Selfie On for 2014 #MFGDayinFL

October 3 is the official kick-off day for 2014 National #MFGDayinFL. FLATE, the Florida-based, NSF regional center of excellence in manufacturing is inviting ALL involved in 2014 Manufacturing Day in FL to participate in a #MFGDayinFL Selfie-thon.
 
TAMPA, Fla. - Sept. 29, 2014 - PRLog -- Manufacturing Month is here with October 3, as the official kick-off day for 2014 National #MFGDayinFL. To up the ante and put fun in manufacturing, FLATE (http://www.fl-ate.org/), the Florida-based, National Science Foundation regional center of excellence in manufacturing, is launching for the very first time, an exciting campaign inviting ALL involved in 2014 Manufacturing Day in Florida (http://www.madeinflorida.org/manufacturing-day) to  “Show Your Manufacturing Pride” through a #MFGDayinFL  Selfie-thon, which according to the Urban dictionary is a “A marathon of many selfies taken in a short amount of time.” Ha! who knew!

So what does, or will the #MFGDayinFL , Selfie-thon  involve? To jump into the #MFGDayinFL, “selfie-thon” bandwagon, we ask you to take a selfie during a Manufacturing Day tour, open house, movie screening, road trip, or any other 2014 Manufacturing Day-related event, and upload your selfie on a social network  of your choice using the #MFGDayinFLSelfie, or share it with @Made_InFlorida (https://twitter.com/Made_InFlorida) #MFGDayinFLSelfie. If you are not signed up on any social network, but would like to participate, please email your selfie to news@fl-ate.org. You can post your Selfie with an optional, one-line descriptor about what manufacturing means to you, or has impacted you/your organization.

#MFGDayinFL selfie-thon not only shows a fun side of Manufacturing and STEM, but also highlights the importance of manufacturing in Florida’s economy and its role in spearheading innovation. This year’s #MFGDayinFL selfie-thon officially kick starts on Oct. 1, 2014 and will continue throughout manufacturing month which is October 2014. FLATE will compile all entries and make a fun #MFGDayinFL selfie video that will be posted on FLATE’s YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/MadeInFlorida2010). Top three selfies will be chosen by FLATE staff, and the winning entry featured in the November edition of the FLATE Focus.
