By: Florida Association of Notaries, Inc. The aim of the Florida Notary Conference is to provide educational sessions to allow attendees to improve their knowledge and skills as it relates to the work performed as a Notary. Educational sessions have been planned and will include topics ranging from the use of notarial journals, to appropriate identification processes, as well as business best practices for Notary Signing Agents, who play a role in real estate-related loan signing procedures. The Notary’s role in loan signings expanded career and business opportunities for Florida Notaries, beyond typical clerical responsibilities and has proven to be a lucrative outlet for Notaries willing to put in the training and networking hours. The conference will cover topics specific to the Notary Signing Agent and will address business planning, marketing, and the Notary signing process from A to Z. FAN Co-Founder, Cynthia Alexander said, “Our goal is to help notaries do more with their Notary Commission. There are plenty of opportunities out there, but education and empowerment is key, so that Notaries can not only do their job with confidence, properly, and lawfully, but also earn money from their skills and expertise. We want to connect the pieces for our members and provide the support they need.” Additionally, the conference will focus on both peer and mentor networking as FAN offers a mentorship program to aid newer Notaries who seek advice and guidance from season experts on notarial procedures and business practices.
