Follow on Google News | US Solar Lighting Firm Drops Restriction on Islamic State Members Participation in On-line ContestDecision Reached After Informal Discussions with US Marine Corps Officers
According to company CEO and Founder and Marine veteran, Mark Bent, "I was smoking cigars and sipping whiskey at the Embassy Cigar lounge, near the Marine Corps base in Quantico, Virginia, earlier this week, with a number of active duty Marine officers, when the topic of excluding the barbaric murdering jihadist terrorists from winning one of our exceed mil-spec solar powered flashlights arose. One of the mid-level Marine officers at the table strongly urged Bent to change his mind. "I would like to see Sheik al-Baghadi (leader of the movement) actually win one of your lights. Just let us have it for a couple of days before you send it and then tell him six seconds after he turns it on, to place it next to his ear. He will then hear the all female pop group Ninety-Nine Virgins singing his name in chorus". Another Marine officer told Bent he had an even more expansive idea. "Hell, tell the Sheik and all of his senior thugs that they all won one of your lights. We will all pitch in and pay for the high-tech devices.” The officer continued, “Tell them we will personally deliver via an air-drop. Just give us the geo-coordinates, go stand outside in a group, and one of our buddies in the Marine Air Wing with a FA-18 will send them the flashlights down via parachutes”. When pushed, the officer did allow that they would probably augment the air drop with more traditional FA-18 delivery items. In response to the requests above, Bent has decided to lift the embargo on members of the Islamic State from participating. Bent also noted that this lifting also included Western supporters of the terrorist group, however, supporters should include as much biographical and location specific information possible in their application for one of the devices.
