Booktrope’s Unique Approach to Publishing Attracts Attention from Hollywood

Booktrope and Intellectual Property Group announce a new relationship designed to bring great books to screens near you!

SEATTLE - Sept. 9, 2014 - PRLog -- Booktrope and Intellectual Property Group are announcing a new relationship in which the two companies will work together to better represent the overall Booktrope catalog -- currently nearly 300 books strong and growing rapidly -- to the entertainment industry.

Booktrope is a Seattle startup that says it’s reinventing publishing by providing efficient, online services to creative teams -- authors, editors, designers and others involved in producing books -- in order to produce high quality titles for readers at reasonable prices. Booktrope cites a strong commitment to keeping ebook prices substantially lower than print, allowing consumers to benefit from new technology, while still affording authors deserved compensation.

Intellectual Property Group (IPG) is one of the leading literary management companies in the industry with a distinguished list of International A-list clients and properties. IPG was formed in 2001 and is led by Industry veteran Joel Gotler.

When asked what advantage this new relationship brings to the table, Booktrope CEO Ken Shear has this to say, “Our goal when creating Booktrope was a better system for authors that resulted in more opportunity for success, both financially and otherwise. As a result, we are constantly looking for ways to reach a broader audience, and maximize that level of success. This relationship opens a whole new area for us, as well as bringing some great books to the attention of an industry that is always hungry for new and outstanding material.”

As a leader in the industry, some might wonder what attracted IPG to a relative newcomer like Booktrope. Joel Gotler describes the benefits of working with them this way: “It's simple, early looks, great material, and exclusivity.”

Both companies share a drive to bring quality material to market, and predict this relationship will result in many interesting projects.
