20th anniversary twice over for Vector 3

AMSTERDAM - Sept. 12, 2014 - PRLog -- Vector 3 has a double celebration this year because it has been 20 years since the foundation of the channel-in-a-box and also 20 since the first Vector 3's stand in the IBC. Vector 3 launched its first VectorBox -the first channel-in-a-box ever- in the  IBC1994 when the channel-in-a-box concept (i. e. using  IT technology for playout automation) was unthinkable for the broadcast industry. VectorBox was the first equipment to integrate video, graphics and effects and the first in broadcast industry to do integral use of XML for metadata management. After 20 years, Vector 3 has installed more than 2000 Vector Boxes around the world.

From this original VectorBox, the father of all CIAB, Vector 3 has built another two revolutions. The first was MultiPlay, the first multichannel playout that used exclusively IT technology and that allowed broadcaster to benefit of the outstanding modularity and flexibility of the IT architecture. The so called "n+m redundancy" was born. Shortly after was added the benefit of the backup systems being be reasigned at will at any moment.

In recent years has come the third revolution, migrating the control of MultiPlay to "the cloud".  Vector MultiPlay allows the TV companies to manage their playout facilities from any location around the planet. Operators have full access and control while being on the other side of the globe from the videoserver and routers. This allows either to unify in one location the control of many master control rooms or to share the control of a master control room from many different venues.

IBC has always been the perfect place to show Vector 3's newest solutions and we are happy to come back again with the freshness of the first year but with 20 of experience.
