Follow on Google News | Local Children & Family Mission Shop Moves to Permanant LocationBy: Emmanuel’s Closet “Words cannot express how excited we are to be moving into a permanent location!” said Brandi Fowler, founder of Emmanuel’s Closet. In the past they have had the closet at Parkview Baptist Church and were typically open to the public six days a year, working alongside the church’s Food Pantry. We will now be open more than twenty times per year," Brandi added.. Emmanuel’s Closet was opened in 2012. They provide free clothing and basic necessities to children ages 0-18 years of age, single mothers and those in need in Flagler County. Clothing is donated from local families in Flagler County and then redistributed to other local families who need it most. The clothing donations have been being stored at Top Shelf Storage for two years. "On the day the closet was open, a team of volunteers would start at 7am and fill up as many as four vehicles, and a large trailer, full of clothing and bring it to the church. “Gaylee and her team at Top Shelf have been a blessing to our mission. They’ve been collecting our donations and putting them into our storage unit for two years. We started out with the smallest unit and quickly moved our way up until we reached one of the largest units. We were bursting at the seams when a church family came forward and offered to invest in our mission. They’ve graciously agreed to pay for our new location for a full year,” said Brandi. She and her team of loyal volunteers are happy to be opening this storefront and to be reaching more families in need. On a typical clothing giveaway day this mission provides clothing, shoes and other basic necessities to about 200 people in Flagler. They’re expecting those numbers to more than double at this new location. “This mission wouldn’t be a success without our loyal volunteers who work so hard to make it happen” Brandi added..
