The Walk will begin at 10am at Bluemont Park and will be followed by lunch and activities for the kids sponsored by the Tourette Syndrome Association of Greater Washington. The public is invited to participate in the Walk and can register or donate to support the event at www.tsagw.org. Tourette Syndrome (TS) is a neurobiological condition that affects 1 in 100 persons and is characterized by involuntary physical movements and vocalizations called tics. Funds raised by the Walk will support both programs and services to help those living with Tourette Syndrome in Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC, as well as research for a cure and better treatments. About the Tourette Syndrome Association Founded in 1972, the Tourette Syndrome Association is the only national voluntary non-profit membership organization in this field. The mission is to identify the cause of, find the cure for, and control the effects of Tourette Syndrome. National TSA offers resources and referrals to help people and their families cope with the problems that occur with TS.
