Google for Entrepreneurs and Blackbox Connect Announce Selected Startups for the Fall 2014 Program

In their joint mission to empower entrepreneurs worldwide, Google and Blackbox are bringing successful international startup founders to Palo Alto for a two week intensive program that serves as a link to Silicon Valley startup resources and as a springboard for launching their products in the US and scaling their companies globally.

PALO ALTO, Calif. - Sept. 2, 2014 - PRLog -- Today Blackbox Connect is announcing its third cycle in partnership with Google for Entrepreneurs' global network of Campuses and Startup Communities with new partners from Kenya, Ireland and Australia.

By harnessing the entrepreneurs’ strong commitment and pairing it with Silicon Valley resources, Blackbox Connect has successfully completed 8 programs and is dedicated to developing another generation of born global startups. The program not only gives entrepreneurs the resources to grow in their home countries but also helps them understand the Silicon Valley mentality, in order to access its wealth of resources, forge parternships, and expand their markets.

Google for Entrepreneurs partners Astia, Astrolabs, Campus London, Campus Tel Aviv, Communitech, Factory, Kstartup, NASSCOM, P@SHA , Enterprise Ireland, Fishburners, and iHub nominated their best startups among hundreds of applicants to participate in the Fall cycle. Blackbox has selected 16 of these companies from 15 different countries including the UK, Kenya, Canada, Pakistan, Germany, South Korea, Ireland, Palestine, India, Israel, Egypt, Australia, United Arab Emirates, Scotland and France to participate in Blackbox Connect.

(South Korea): Android application for online voice calling.
Boxcryptor (Germany): Cloud-optimized encryption software for everybody.
Compare&Share (United Kingdom): One stop comparison platform for shared economy sites.
Carpool Arabia (United Arab Emirates/France): Customized carpool platform for Middle East & North Africa.
Eventtus (Egypt): Mobile and web app for events organizers and events goers.
Greedy Game (India): Platform for making a game dynamic and localized based on events, locations and time of the day the game is played.
Iris Interactive Solutions (Palestine): Assistive technology which helps in the process of rehabilitation of autistic and disabled children.
NewsWhip (Ireland): Tool for journalists to monitor the spread of news and other content on social networks.
Remote Interview (Pakistan): Platform for hiring coders remotely.
Restored Hearing (Ireland): App and device to protect people from tinnitus and promote healthy hearing.
SalesFloor (Israel): Marketplace of online sales people/services.
Phonics Hero (Australia): The world's largest phonics platform, systematically teaches a child to read and spell.
Plum (Canada): Cutting edge behavior science for hiring online.
Valuraha (Kenya): Virtual trading platform that maps out various investment options across Africa.
Yomp (Scotland/United Kingdom): B2B app for employees to improve health and wellness.
Zone V (United Kingdom): Smartphones for elderly and blind people.

Blackbox is a committed partner in the #40Forward initiative of Google for Entrepreneurs to increasing the representation of women founders in their startup communities. Of the 16 selected companies, 7 are co-founded by women.

The Blackbox Connect program culminates in mid-October with the opportunity to pitch angel investors, venture capitalists, corporations and other influential industry leaders during Demo Day at Google headquarters in Mountain View, CA.
