DesignArts Utah Showcases JDHgroup!

SALT LAKE CITY - Aug. 28, 2014 - PRLog -- We are quite the renaissance men and women now here at JDHgroup. After being awarded a spot in the DesignArts Utah ‘14 exhibition for our Salt Lake City Office design, we can now stand proud knowing that we have a representation of us hanging in a real bona-fide art gallery.

DesignArts Utah is dedicated to the promotion of excellence in the diverse fields of design in Utah. The exhibition opens at Noon on August 29th and runs through October 17th, 2014 at the Rio Gallery in Salt Lake City. Thirty-five designs were curated into the exhibit by Ellen Lupton, the senior curator of contemporary design at the Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum in New York City. We’d love you to pop on over to the gallery and see JDHgroup’s showcase along with the work of some of Utah’s best professional and student designers from a wide variety of media.

Highlighting the design process and implementation of our new studio in Salt Lake, our space was entered into the environmental category. We started converting a turn-of-the-century seed shop into a modern design space by stripping the interior down to the original 105 year old wood floors, beams and joists, reclaiming the interior space to be visually open as you step through the door. Collaboration is key with our method so a central conference room became our emphasis, which we then built entirely of glass to keep the visual site-lines open. To brand the space we relied heavily on our JDHgroup colors and utilized our blue within accent carpet tiles that meander throughout the space with pit stops at private offices, collaborative tables and impromptu thinking spaces.

We are so excited to be included in this showing, let alone in a gallery so close to our space, that we will be transforming our studio into a gallery coinciding with Salt Lake Design Week. On October 17th from 6 to 9pm during Salt Lake Gallery Stroll we invite you to experience our environment first hand while enjoying premiere pieces by Jimi Torro complementing the habitat. We are located at 324 South 400 West in Salt Lake City, just one block East of the Rio Gallery.

JDHgroup is a digital + dimensional agency. We’re a group of creatives that specialize in designing brand experiences whether it be through digital, interactive or environmental means. What sets us apart is that we consider ourselves just a much innovators and inventors as we do designers. Because of this we do everything in-house from concept, to design, to development, on through to production. We’re creators who like to get our hands dirty.
