The project is a part of the multi-year Infrastructure Improvement Program, which is funded through a $5 million low-interest loan from the US Department of Agriculture in 2014. The ongoing project consists of replacing existing water pipelines that are more than 50 years old with 9,800-feet of new water lines. A new blending station at Well 4 was constructed to facilitate the blending of the local well water with the imported State water, which will improve the water quality and reduce the salt level for customers.
