A special key note speaker will provide inspiration and acknowledge the work done by Tampa Bay’s charities. “Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard wrote that ‘A community that pulls together can make a better society for all’ and we, as a community, have a unique opportunity to do that here in Pinellas County,” said Pat Harney, the spokesperson for the Church of Scientology’ “There are also people who need job skills, improved literacy and a window of hope – local charities provide that and we want to provide support for those people in the trenches,” added Ms. Harney. The Fort Harrison has provided this kind of support since construction completed in late 1926. Historical records and media stories since 1927 show a wide variety of fundraisers and charity events at the facility.
