Follow on Google News | Emergency Medical Techniques Guest Lecture at Avalon UniversityCaribbean medical school - Avalon University had a guest lecture on Emergency Medical Techniques in the Anatomy Lab
Dr. Kaja Konieczny, a cardiology fellow in Toronto, Canada, previously visited and taught Avalon Students how to properly insert chest tubes in a hands-on workshop inside Avalon’s Anatomy lab. For her returning visit, she lectured about her experience as an Internal Medicine Fellowship/Resident in Toronto and provided critical insight into resident life and Internal Medicine as a whole. The Emergency Medical Techniques Club has been fortunate enough to have had many guest speakers throughout their founding year, including Dr. Joel Woodley-Cook, an interventional radiologist in Toronto, Canada who taught Avalon students how to properly read MRI, X-Ray, and CT scans while explaining the daily procedures he performs, as well as Dr. Oleg Klipitch, a general practitioner from Toronto, Canada, who provided insight into the world of family medicine and gave club members much advice regarding their pursuit of a medical career. EMT club would like to formally extend our deepest gratitude to all guest speakers and hope to have many more in upcoming semesters.
