ENFIELD, U.K. - July 26, 2014 - PRLog -- The Roman Emperor Nero was at the height of his powers, when the Jewish Temple priests in Jerusalem murdered Jesus’ brother James and declared war on Rome.

The consequences of this war were a disaster for the Jews from which they never recovered.  The war lasted seven years and saw Jew killing Jew in their tens of thousands, as they fought a civil war at the same time as the war with the Romans.

The horrors of the siege of Jerusalem matched the suffering and destruction of Stalingrad in World War II.  The holy city of Jerusalem was razed to the ground.  It ceased to exist.  As did the country (Israel).  It was taken by the Roman Emperor Vespasian as his personal possession as the spoils of war.  Eventually it would be renamed Syria Palastina.

A million Jews died in the conflict.  The survivors could not own land in what had been Judaea (Palestine), they could only rent it.  That Israel ceased to exist as a consequence of becoming the spoils of war was ironic, for it came into existence as the spoils of war in 1300 BC when migrant Jews from Egypt were ordered by their God to invade part of Palestine and seize the land they would call Israel (Judaea).

The problem of the existing owners was solved by ethnic cleansing, the God of the Jews ordering the murder of the entire population, without any exception, to make way for His chosen people.  (Deuteronomy 20:16:18)

Sweeping boldly from Rome, Jerusalem and the Middle East, the story vividly portrays an era of the world in flux.  It caused changes that continue to influence world politics to this day.

Tragically the war between Arab and Jew is unfinished business.  Worse still, it has morphed into Islam and Jew and will probably be fought to the death at some point in the future.
