Free Trial Opportunity for Companies Interested in Body-Worn Cameras

Companies are being offered the opportunity to test out body-worn cameras for themselves with a free trial of the recently released Global Focus F1 Pro.

July 25, 2014 - PRLog -- A growing numbers of body-worn video trials are taking place in countries all over the world; police forces, security companies, councils, hospitals, retail premises and bars/ nightclubs are all getting involved.  These portable recording devices are rapidly becoming part of the uniform for the security guarding sector with many customers expecting them to be provided as standard.

Global Focus are offering companies the opportunity to test out these devices for themselves with a free trial of their recently released F1 Pro.  This new HD, infrared body-worn video camera has intelligent and secure encrypted enabled software and has been developed to UK Home Office standards, with operational input and feedback from West Mercia Police.  The F1 Pro is small and portable, weighing less than 100g. It clips easily onto a jacket or fits neatly into one of the Global Focus specially designed hi-viz jackets.

“The directors of Global Focus have spent more than 20 years in this industry, manufacturing and distributing high spec body-worn recording devices“; said company director, Ejaz Mohammed; “We understand the requirements from the point of view of those using the cameras as well as those being filmed.

“We’ve already had a great deal of interest; companies try out the cameras and come to the realisation that this equipment is essential to their business; protecting clients, members of the public, and their own staff.  The feedback we’ve received has been very positive and certainly confirms claims that use of cameras helps to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour.”

Body-worn cameras are beneficial in improving efficiency, demonstrating quality and transparency, as well as reducing crime.  Trials have recorded many positive outcomes including an 80% drop in the number of complaints being made, more time available for patrols and less time taken writing up incident reports.  At the Modernising Justice conference in London last month, Damien Green, UK Minister for Policing, Criminal Justice and Victims, highlighted the importance of this technology quoting evidence from previous trials which suggests that 90% of offenders plead guilty when their actions have been recorded on body-worn video cameras.

The use of body worn video recording devices has grown substantially over the last ten years, with developments in technology resulting in cameras such as the F1 Pro.  Global Focus also offer Phoenix Media Manager software which was developed in 2007 to manage video generated by body-worn cameras, and has evolved along with the devices.  Phoenix Media Manager meets MOPI (Management of Police Information) guidelines for storing data, and has been used by police forces, councils, traffic management and private security organisations since its launch.
