Hayes Software Systems Launches RFID Software

First RFID Inventory Solution Specifically Designed for K-12 Education

AUSTIN, Texas - July 8, 2014 - PRLog -- Austin, TX July 2014 – Hayes Software Systems has announced they have launched a new RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) inventory and audit module.  Hayes, the leader in K-12 asset management and inventory control, will integrate RFID technology to make the process of conducting asset inventory audits more efficient.   The solution, called TIPWeb-RFID, will include fully integrated RFID handheld readers, compatible tags and consulting services. This brings a comprehensive RFID inventory tracking solution option to Hayes 400+ customers.

TIPWeb-RFID works in seamless coordination with Hayes’ industry leading inventory control solution, TIPWeb-IT. This allows school and district personnel the ability to effectively manage building level inventory, budget for future purchases, sync data with the district’s fixed asset system, and manage the logistics of 1:1 staff and student device assignments.

“We listen to our customers to understand what their needs are.   What we’ve heard is that they are facing big new challenges, especially around trying to manage the diverse technology assets in their schools,” says Anna Maxin, Director of Product Management.   “Our solution already provides the ability for staff to manage their inventory using mobile devices and apps.  Incorporating RFID technology gives them yet another powerful tool to be able to make their job easier.”

RFID technology utilizes radio frequency electromagnetic waves to send a signal from the asset to the scanner or device being used to capture the information.  The technology offers several specific benefits to traditional barcode technology including the elimination of line of sight capture. This feature facilitates the scanning of assets that are mounted on ceilings, in mobile device carts, or otherwise difficult to reach. RFID tags can also be read quickly, and inventory of multiple assets can be done simultaneously, creating a much faster inventory process.  This results in the ability to conduct inventory reconciliations more frequently; painting a clearer picture of what is in buildings, classrooms, and storage.

“As RFID technology continues to reinvent inventory management, we are passionate about ensuring that school districts are among today’s businesses reaping the benefits of this leading-edge technology’”says Mike Hayes, CEO and President.   “We pride ourselves on being leaders in inventory control and asset management for school systems.   Providing RFID as a component of our system will only further enhance that position in our market.  This is a really exciting time at Hayes and for our customers.”
