CARLISLE, Pa. - June 30, 2014 - PRLog -- 2014 is a year of celebrations for Carlisle Events and the trend continues with the 2014 Carlisle Chrysler Nationals.  The event runs July 11-13 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds and continues the 40th Anniversary celebration of Carlisle Events.  In addition, this year’s show also spotlights 100 years of Dodge, 50 years of the Plymouth Barracuda and 50 years of the Hemi.  In addition to these great honors, Chrysler weekend once more hosts Collector Car Appreciation Day.

Collector Car Appreciation Day, or CCAD, takes place on July 11 at 1 p.m. on the Red 102.3 stage and this is the fifth time that CCAD has been an officially recognized day.  It’s also the fourth time that Carlisle Events and the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals have hosted a special ceremony in conjunction with CCAD.   At Carlisle, the ceremonies will run about 1 hour and include local dignitaries, event guests, representatives from the Special Equipment Manufacturers Association (SEMA) and staff from Carlisle Events.  Further, select collector cars that are onsite will be chosen from the showfield and positioned in the foreground of the ceremonies.  These car owners will also be recognized with a special plaque for their participation.

What makes CCAD even more special is that it’s annually pushed through congress as a resolution and is sponsored by the Congressional Automotive Performance and Motorsports Caucus Co-Chairs Senator Jon Tester (D-MT) and Senator Richard Burr (R-NC).  Senators Tester and Burr are strong advocates for the automotive hobby in Washington and recognize the integral role collector cars have played in fostering our nation's appreciation for the automobile's unique historical place in our history.  Because of that, CCAD was born in 2010 and is celebrated annually.

The Carlisle Chrysler Nationals is a celebration of all things Mopar.  The weekend hosts thousands of cars, vendors and enthusiasts, all highlighting the best from Detroit's production line.  This year's event offers even more fun with special displays, the world’s largest all-Mopar-themed swap meet, special guests and more.  Guests include the likes of Don Grotheer, Butch Leal, Shirley Shahan, Golden Commandos, Ramchargers and Mr. Norm.  Plus, enthusiasts onsite could have their car (or truck) featured on international TV via Mark “Fletch” Fletcher and his Australian TV show called Classic Restos.  On top of it all, Saturday night hosts the Mopar Hall of Fame and Carlisle Events is actively working with the Mopar Collector's Guide to have some of the inductees visit the event too.

“We get to celebrate the collector car hobby every other weekend here at Carlisle,” noted Carlisle Events co-owner Bill Miller.  “With multiple shows on our schedule, the fun happens frequently, but we consider it an honor to host the Collector Car Appreciation Day ceremony,” continued Miller.  “Without our great guests and their cars, we would not be able to do what we do and I think it’s very important each year for this day and this ceremony.  I invite everyone to spend some time with us at the stage on Friday of Chrysler weekend.”

Chrysler weekend not only welcomes the CCAD ceremonies on Friday and supports the Hall of Fame on Saturday, it’s also home to over 40,000 enthusiasts and nearly 2,500 show cars which span the history of the brand.  The weekend is a true Mopar lover’s paradise and a “must attend” for everyone.  Anyone looking to be part of the event can call 717-243-7855 or visit www.CarlisleEvents.com.
