The series is chronological. For lovers of action books "The Centurion Chronicles" provides a lively read. The battles are graphically portrayed. The main characters are Centurion Sextius Baculus, his orderly Marcus, Julius Caesar, his orderly Quintus plus assorted Generals and Tribunes all of whom mesh seamlessly tother to form a cohesive unit. The series gives the interested reader the perspective of the war fought in Gaul from the eyes of the Centurion and also from the eyes of Julius Caesar. Technically it is history from both below and above. All of the characters were very well dileneated. The book average two hundred pages in length but there are no maps avilable. This is a book for lovers of Roman history.
