Follow on Google News | Colchester based Care UK wins new homecare contract in NottinghamshireEssex based leading health and social care provider Care UK has been selected as a partner organisation to provide more than 9,500 hours of social care to older and disabled people in Nottinghamshire - tripling its current work in the county.
By: Care UK Libby Eastley, Business Development Director for Care UK’s Community Services, said: “We have partnered with Nottinghamshire Council for many years, providing domiciliary care services that fit in with each individual service user, enabling them to lead an independent lifestyle in their own home. We also provide live-in care on a long-term or respite basis, supporting people with more advanced needs. “Our consistently delivered, high quality services and our willingness to be flexible and work with commissioners have enabled us to build our presence in the county. This in turn allows us to further develop our current team, as well as recruiting new colleagues to deliver this contract and build our services.” Trainees will undergo an intensive six-day induction course that teaches the required skills and knowledge. During the training, Care UK sees whether candidates have the right attitude, compassion and commitment to deliver the expected high standards of care. The training places a special emphasis on understanding and supporting people living with dementia. According to the Nottinghamshire dementia strategy, it is estimated that 9,700 people live with dementia in the county; however, by 2025, the proportion of the population aged over 65 is set to increase by 50 per cent and the number of people with dementia in the county is predicted to grow to nearly 15,000. Diane Clayton from Nottinghamshire County Council said: “Nottinghamshire County Council has recently awarded a three-year contract to Care UK for the delivery of social care and support in the Mansfield and Ashfield areas. “The Council wants to ensure people receiving a service have a good standard of care with committed and competent staff being a key factor to achieving this. The Council is looking forward to working in partnership with Care UK over the coming years as it further develops its local workforce.” Anyone interested in taking up or further developing a career in care in the Nottinghamshire area can call our recruitment direct line is 0333 200 1720, while anyone interested in learning more about receiving care in their own home can go to www.careuk.com Care UK currently has a number of vacancies for people to work in the caring profession across the country.
