Braintree Chamber of Commerce to Host 2nd Annual PizzaPalooza June 26th

BRAINTREE, Mass. - June 11, 2014 - PRLog -- The Braintree Chamber of Commerce will host the second annual PizzaPalooza on Thursday, June 26 from 5-8 pm at Braintree Town Hall.

Last year’s event exceeded all expectations with more than 500 people coming together to raise funds for the Braintree 4^th of July Celebration Committee. To date all of the local restaurants and pizza establishments who completed last year have signed on to compete in the Pizza Showdown. The event will be expanded onto French’s Common Park with additional taste testings and giveaways.

One restaurant will be awarded the People’s Choice/Best Slice award based on the popular vote of attendees. The Kid’s Choice award will be decided by a separate children’s ballot. This year’s celebrity judge’s panel of pizza aficionados will be led by Braintree Mayor Joseph C. Sullivan and will include Police Chief Russell W. Jenkins and Fire Chief James O’Brien who will all participate in the blind taste testing.

The 2013 winner of the People’s Choice/Best Slice was South Side Tavern. The younger voters awarded the Kid’s Choice award to Rosie’s Pizzeria and the Judges’ Choice award went to Georgiana’s Italian Style Pizza.

Tickets are $10 per person/$20 per family and can be purchased at the door on the day of the event.
