CHESAPEAKE, Va. - June 7, 2014 - PRLog -- Jun. 07, 2014 - “A Voice from New Mill Creek: The Methodists,” by Tony Alan Grayson, tells the story of Methodists in colonial Virginia who had to conceal their faith while they openly worshipped in the British Anglican Church. Elements of this story are based on fact, including the recent discovery of colonial industry that dates back to the 1600s, now under study in Chesapeake, Virginia. Circumstantial evidence points to the possible first Methodist meeting house along New Mill Creek. The characters in this story are engaging, and the setting comes alive as Methodists are infiltrated by the descendents of pirates from North Carolina’s Albemarle Sound. This author has a story teller’s gift. “A Voice from New Mill Creek: The Methodists,” was awarded a Five Star Rating by Aspiring Writer, with this review: This story was a thrilling read and artfully told! The first four chapters fed my expectation that I would read about how the Methodists came to Virginia. Then, I read about the pirates of Edenton. I'm still studying that to see if that part of the story is true, like the Methodist part seems to be. This writer was pretty good at creating some romantic steam too, but with good taste. I can't wait to get the second book in the series!
