Men and Women Experts Come Together to Discuss Gender Issues
 
DETROIT - June 3, 2014 - PRLog -- DETROIT, MI. – A Voice For Men has assembled an exciting array of speakers interested in issues that men and boys face in today’s society.  The press conference will feature international speakers.

Warren Farrell served on the New York City Board of the National Organization for Women (NOW) and authored the international best-selling book, The Myth of Male Power: Why Men are the Disposable Sex.

Senator Anne Cools is the first black senator in Canada and first black female senator in North America.  She founded one of the first shelters for abused women in Canada and helped create the Special Senate-House of Commons Joint Committee on child custody and access after divorce.  She has long upheld the importance of a father’s involvement in children’s lives.

Author of the e-book The War on Men, Suzanne Venker, is a speaker, blogger, and frequent guest on Fox News.  She speaks on a range of social issues such as marriage, child care, and the gender wars.

Dr. Helen Smith is a forensic psychologist.  She is the author of Men on Strike: Why Men Are Boycotting Marriage, Fatherhood, and the American Dream – and Why it Matters.  She discusses social issues and psychology with particular emphasis on the problems and experiences of men.

Dr. Tara Palmatier is a clinical psychologist and is the publisher of Shrink4Men.  She recognized that men who are in abusive relationships in which the perpetrator is a woman do not have the same support resources as their female counterparts.

Other speakers include the founder and publisher of A Voice For Men, Paul Elam, Dianna Thompson, national leading expert on families, step-families, and divorce related issues, Carnell Smith an expert about paternity fraud issues, and Calvin Mann who will speak about Detroit father issues and mentoring boys.  The press conference will take place on June 26th, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the Libernois room at the Doubletree Downtown Hotel in downtown Detroit.
