Packing List Envelopes are usually made from polyethylene, a synthetic plastic. It allows mass production of these envelopes. They should be water proof and weather resistant. Because of their importance in packaging, they should be built strong, secure, and self-adherent, with such a backing that can stick to any type of surface of any shape and size. They should be tough to tear, yet easy to seal, open, fill, and access. They should be compatible with a variety of surfaces like wood, cardboard, glass, plastic, and metal.
