Follow on Google News | Tony Sarin & Tim Shaw Appear on Sky's Make Me a Millionaire InventorSky's show aims to reinvigorate old inventions and creations to attract investors
By: Clark Howes Group The show will appear on Sky’s channel Pick, and is broadcast at 7.00pm every Sunday. The current series has eight episodes in total. The theme will be familiar to fans of Dragon’s Den, but with an interesting twist. Every week, two engineers - Shini Somara and Jem Stansfield - visit the inventors of forgotten creations to identify where the original project didn’t succeed. They then aim to stir the original entrepreneurial feeling and assist the inventors in developing a structured business plan. After this process, the inventor then builds a prototype and pitches their product to a group of potential investors. Clark Howes’ Tim and Tony were asked to be potential investors for the Xpanda Bra - a maternity nursing bra invented by Irish creative Declan McDonnell. The bra fits throughout pregnancy and throughout breastfeeding. In a show of confidence for the invention, Tim and Tony made an offer - which McDonnell unfortunately decided not to go ahead with. About the idea of Make Me A Millionaire Inventor, Tony commented; ‘The concept is something that really spoke to us as entrepreneurs and business owners ourselves. We both have vast experience in starting up and managing businesses as well as taking products to market. Being able to not only act as investors but as advisers and mentors to someone looking to tread a similar path is greatly rewarding.’ After this TV appearance, Tony and Tim will also be answering local business owners’ questions at the next Bicester Business Clinic, which is hosted in conjunction with Bicester Vision, on Tuesday 10th June 2014 16:00 – 18:30 at the John Paul ll Centre.
