Portview fit-out on song with Hummingbird Bakery projects

May 31, 2014 - PRLog -- Northern Ireland fit-out specialist Portview was on song when American-style cupcake chain Hummingbird Bakery called on its talent to complete the interior fit-out of its latest London outlet.

This is the fourth Hummingbird Bakery the Belfast-based interior fit-out specialists have completed for the successful cupcakes retailer, which has six bakeries in London.

The seven-week project at the Richmond store was completed last November, adding another sweet deal for Portview Fit-Out, which had already carried out refurbishments at the bakery chain's other stores in Islington, Notting Hill and Spitalfields.

Portview Fit-Out has found the recipe for success when it comes to fitting out the popular bakery chain, although the central London location did pose some interesting challenges with an all-important cooker having to be fitted in advance of any construction work to the old building.

A complete refurbishment was carried out at the chain's newest bakery. Portview Fit-Out Contracts Director, Sean McEvoy, who oversaw the project, said: "There were restrictions on access and delivery times due to the central London location. We also had to fit the cooker before any of the major work could begin, as the only access was through a very small staircase to the basement."

The refurbishment included stripping out the old premises over two floors, rebuilding internal walls as well as redesigning and installing a new layout, seating, electrics, air conditioning, ventilation and decoration.

Hummingbird Bakery's newest outlet also differs slightly from previous branches worked on by Portview Fit-Out with the addition of a new resin floor, which was colour-matched to the bakery chain's exact requirement. There is also seating at the Richmond bakery, so cupcake fans can pull up a chair and relax with a tea or coffee while they tuck into their favourite sweet treat.
