Mom's Cancer Battle Births Cosmetics Legacy

May 25, 2014 - PRLog -- LaPierre Cosmetics was established in honor of the founder's mother, J.M. LaPierre, a beautiful woman who embodied elegance and class whom also loved to polish and take care of her nails. For years, LaPierre created many fond memories with her daughter over a fresh bottle of red nail lacquer.

Who knew that the result of joyous childhood memories mixed with red nail polish and a devastating diagnoses could be responsible for the creation of a nail care product line.

In August 30, 2013, LaPierre was diagnosed termilly ill with lung cancer. A few weeks after receiving her diagnoses, LaPierre, moved from Louisiana to Maryland, with her daughter and began her chemotherapy and radiation treatments a Johns Hopkins Hospital. This gave her daughter the honor of being her caregiver, which allowed them both to carry on a tradition that was limited by thousands of miles that used to be between them both.

LaPierre Cosmetics founder and daughter, Brandi Blocker, expressed that "when I would do mini-manicures, polish or even clip and file my mom nails, she would smile as if that simple jester would giver her a moment of freedom from her reality. I am just so fortunate to have had the best mother a girl could ask for! She was my best friend and I am grateful that she lived to see me create a legacy that reminds the world that she was here."

Dolefully, LaPierre's potential years of life were lost in her battle with cancer on January 1, 2014.

In her memory and honor, LaPierre's daughter and LaPierre Cosmetics will honor her life and donate portions of proceeds to the LIVESTRONG Foundation, committing ourselves to help empower people in the cancer community addressing unmet needs.
