SIA's Scholarship Program Invests in the Future

LAFAYETTE, Ind. - June 24, 2014 - PRLog -- On Wednesday, May 21, Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. awarded scholarships to five outstanding high school seniors.  A volunteer committee of community educators assisted SIA in the selection of this year’s five recipients based on Scholarship Aptitude Test scores, high school academic standing and promise, character, and leadership ability.  Each student will receive $1,500 every year for the first four years they attend college for a total of $6,000 per student.

The SIA scholarship recipients are:

Hannah Jones:          Hannah is the daughter of Ted and Wendy Jones. Ted works in the Paint Shop at SIA.  Hannah will graduate from Logansport High School and plans to attend the University of Indianapolis majoring in Exercise Science with a minor in Pre-physical Therapy.

Megan Mooney:          Megan is the daughter of Michael and Caroline Mooney. Michael works in Maintenance at SIA. Megan will graduate from Harrison High School and plans to attend Miami University deciding on a major after taking exploratory studies.

Nolan Morse:          Nolan is the son Stephen and Paula Morse.  Stephen works in Paint Maintenance at SIA.  Nolan will graduate from Crawfordsville High School and plans to attend Wabash College, majoring in Math with a minor in Computer Science.

Kinnsey Pass:          Kinnsey is the daughter of Kenneth and Karren Pass. Kenneth works in Subaru Materials at SIA.  Kinnsey will graduate from Lafayette Jefferson High School and plans to attend Trine University majoring in Bio-medical Engineering.

Avery Penn:          Avery is the daughter of Forrest and Shawna Strickland.  Forrest works in Trim & Final Camry at SIA. Avery will graduate from Logansport High School and plans to attend Indiana University- Bloomington, majoring in Accounting and Business Administration.

SIA congratulates this year’s scholarship winners and wishes them the best of luck in the future as they continue their education.

In October, SIA will be accepting applications from high school seniors who will be graduating in 2015 and are dependants of SIA Associates.
