TheBlackManCan Announce Finalists for 3rd Annual Awards Recognition

May 22, 2014 - PRLog -- Celebrating 3 years of African-American men and their accomplishments, TheBlackManCan is excited to announce finalists for the 3rd Annual BlackManCan Awards ceremony that will take place on Father’s Day via social media, honoring over 60 distinguished Black men in 14 categories and also give out a Man of Distinction award to a black man serving in the armed forces. The voting portal is not open and available on TheBlackManCan's website (http://tbmcawards.theblackmancan.org/), Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Black-Man-Can/120660567950941) and Twitter (https://twitter.com/theblackmancan)accounts. Voting will end on June 9th at 3:00 a.m. eastern time.

Brandon Frame, Chief Visionary Officer says, "It is my honor to do this ceremony each year. It goes to show you, no matter the news reports or the negative images we may see in the media, Black Men are doing amazing things to improve our families and communities."

Created to counteract the negative stereotypes that continue to play out in media and entertainment by highlighting positive examples of African-American males, TheBlackManCan is the number source for positive images and narratives of and for Black Men and Boys.To date, the site has recognized the achievements of over 200 men and women globally and mentored over 700 young boys nationally.

2014 Nominees include: 16-year-old CEO Jaylen Bledsoe, Washington Redskins Defensive Lineman Chris Baker, London Entertainer Stephan Mitchel, Recording Artist Russell Taylor, esteemed lawyer Charles F. Coleman, Educator Jose Vilson, Professional Golfer Josh Jackson and more.

Voting began on May 9th after a host committee narrowed down from 200 to select the 2014 finalist. TheBlackManCan Awards will honor a man of distinction in the Armed Forces. Distinguished winners from past years include include: Olympian Cullen Jones, 10 year old CEO Brett Burch. Jasiri X, Jesse Muhammad, Ramel Werner, Brent D. Page and Dr. James Moore III.

All winners of the 2014 BlackManCan (BMC) Awards will receive an official plaque award, website badge, bragging rights for one year and other sponsored products from sponsors including: Solo Noir (http://www.solonoirformen.com/), Passion Hunger Drive (http://passionhungerdrive.com/), Justice Sweets (http://justicesweets.com/) and Jenni Steele (http://www.jennisteele.net/).
