“As a community based pharmacy, we want to take action to improve the health of all people in Miami-Dade and Broward counties,” said Albert Garcia, Navarro’s Executive Vice President of Pharmacy and President of Navarro Health Services. “By branching out into the community, the Mobile Health Station provides people an easy way to connect with physicians, Navarro pharmacists and other health providers to address their health concerns and learn how to take better care of themselves.”
Throughout the year, the Mobile Health Station will travel to different neighborhoods and participate in events throughout South Florida. People will be able to receive a variety of health services, such as free health screenings that include tests for glucose, total cholesterol, body mass index and bone density and immunizations for the flu and shingles. Doctors, nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists and health care providers will staff Navarro’s Mobile Health Station.
Headquartered in Miami, Navarro Discount Pharmacy was founded in Havana, Cuba in 1940 and opened its first store in the U.S. in 1961.
