Based in Los Angeles, CEO/Founder Jade Tao narrated that when one of her close relatives from the Philippines got breast cancer, she and her cousins living in different countries planned to raise money by selling some items they already owned. However, there was no website in which they could do it altogether- multiple sellers who wanted to directly channel 100% of the sales proceeds to a relative’s hospital fees. Thus, Deo’s Closet was born.
Jade, who is a registered nurse by profession, didn’t let her lack of business and technology background hinder her from building a new breed, social enterprise e-commerce platform. She is a self-taught technoprenuer and still learning the ropes of product development, user acquisition and the many aspects of running an online business. With the help of OneTraction, she aims to increase the awareness of the new services that Deo’s Closet can provide, grow the user base and contribute to worthy causes and charities. Deo’s Closet most successful crowdfunding campaign to date is for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in central Philippines. http://www.deoscloset.com/
