Ms. Rush runs her home like her productions: Randi Silverman: As an Associate Producer on the award-winning short film, ILLNESS (2013), Randi Silverman brought her real life experience to the creative team to help generate a powerful message. As the mother of three boys, one of whom happens to have a mental health disorder, she understands firsthand the impact that mental illness can have on a family. Randi Silverman is also the co-founder of a Parent-to-Parent Support Group for parents raising children who have issues with anxiety, depression, and/or mood disorders. Her support group has served over 250 families since 2012. For more than four years, Randi Silverman served as Vice-Chair and Chair of the Byram Hills C.H.I.L.D., a committee of the local Parent Teacher Association devoted to the support of children having individual life differences. During that time, Ms. Silverman developed significant programs in the community to create a dialogue around children and adolescent mental health. Randi Silverman is also an advocate for families struggling with various issues related to raising children with mental health disorders. As a graduate of the University of Pittsburg School of Law, Randi Silverman uses her knowledge of the law to help parents advocate for the educational needs of their children. Randi Silverman also serves on the Board of Directors for the Rosenthal JCC as Chair of their Special Needs Department. Randi Silverman is a frequent speaker and presenter on the topic of children and adolescent mental health, and takes every opportunity to create community conversations in an effort to fight the stigma of mental illness.
