Follow on Google News | Cut Up and Sew Gains New Class InstructorBy: Cut Up and Sew (386) 447-1103 susan@cutupandsew.com Palm Coast, FL - Cut up and Sew is pleased to announce they have gained a new class instructor, Gloria Brathwaite. “I am very excited to be working at Cut Up and Sew and teaching a sewing class called Sewing with Gloria,” said Brathwaite. “Sewing is a skill that stays with you for life, and I want to help people sharpen their skills in any way I can,” she added. Gloria Brathwaite comes to Cut Up and Sew from Flagler Adult Education, where she taught sewing for almost nine years. Brathwaite had her own dressmaking shop on the island of Trinidad when she was only 23 years old. Arriving in New York City in 1969, Brathwaite’s love of sewing led her to the art of designing and sewing for the New York Metropolitan Opera, where she gained experience in formal wear. Brathwaite moved to Palm Coast in 1995 and began working in alterations for Bealls, gained experience with home decoration projects while working for Beth MacKinnon, Interior Designer. She later opened a shop named “Sew Glo” on Old Kings Road in 2000. Gloria’s class is on Mondays from 5:00pm to 9:00pm and Tuesday afternoons. Cut Up and Sew is located at 160 Cypress Point Parkway, D116 in Palm Coast, FL. They sell Baby Lock sewing machines and repair all brands of sewing machines on-site. They stock a wide selection of fabrics, books, patterns, machine embroidery and notions while offering classes in their state-of-the art classroom. Classes offered range from beginning sewing, a variety of quilting, garment and home decoration classes.
