Weathersfield, VT native takes on Hollywood by teaming up with fellow Hartford High School alum

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. - April 24, 2014 - PRLog -- Mike India Alpha, starring Weatherfield native Anna Borchert, screens Saturday April 26^th at 5:30 pm at On Location: Memphis International Film & Musical Festival at the invitation of fellow Hartford High alum and current OL:M Board Member and Marketing Chair, Dan Hodgdon.

Anna’s step-father, celebrated ski journalist Paul Robbins (Valley News, Rutland Herald etc) can be credited with her first foray into the entertainment world with a kid reporting job at the 1994 Olympic Games in Lillehammer, Norway for VPR. After gaining her parent’s blessing, she left home five years ago to head to New York City to study at the famed Neighborhood Playhouse and to pursue her dreams of becoming an actress. Three years ago, acting opportunities brought her to LA where she has been steadily immersing herself in projects and last May she had the opportunity to take on the role of Samantha Lyons, the female lead, in Mike India Alpha, the story of a Marine captured in Afghanistan fighting to return home to the woman he loves.

After premiering at the 2013 Big Bear Lake International Film Festival in Big Bear Lake, California, fellow Hartford High alum Dan Hodgdon, a board member and Marketing Chair at the 15^th Annual On Location: Memphis International Film & Music Fest, reached out to invite Mike India Alpha to screen in competition at the festival this weekend April 24^th through the 27^th.  Anna and Dan have stayed in touch and supported each other since high school even though their pursuits have led them to different cities, Boston and Memphis for Dan, New York and LA for Anna.  Dan has been one of the major supporters and proponents in Anna’s growing career, offering help and suggestions along the way while Anna has embraced Dan’s continued move into the film festival world offering advice and support as he helps to promote and market the growing success that is OL:M, recently nominated for inclusion as one of MovieMaker  Magazine’s “25 Coolest Film Festivals.”

On Location: Memphis has called Anna a “rising star” and for her part, Anna said she’s “excited to be screening at such a wonderful festival and I’m thrilled that I get to see all of Dan’s hard work come to fruition and be appreciated.”
