Urban Camping: Festival Docking Comes to Downtown Roanoke

ROANOKE, Va. - April 22, 2014 - PRLog -- A group of local dedicated campers -- who have followed the growing trend of locating camping opportunities closer to urban settings to allow ease of parking and convenience to the many assets that vibrant downtowns offer – have recently launched “Urban Camping Roanoke: Festival Docking”. Beginning THIS weekend, the group has secured four key festival dates in 2014 at a perfect location off Williamson Road -- just feet from the newly renovated Elmwood Park in downtown Roanoke, Virginia.

Urban Camping Roanoke provides an opportunity for locals and visitors alike to enjoy all the amenities of downtown while camping in your RV or Camper right in the midst of Roanoke’s urban playground. Festival docking will be conveniently located across from the new Elmwood Park and Elmwood amphitheater complex within walking of our many museums, restaurants, coffee shops and music venues. There will be four prime weekends in the 2014 season with more to come next year!

Festival Weekend Pricing (Friday and Saturday night) RV’s + 5th Wheels | $50 Weekend Pass
Pop Ups + Campers | $40 Weekend Pass

What you get:
+ Reserved spot for entire festival weekend.
+ Trash bins and pick-up located on site.
+ A grounds employee will be on site to assist with parking, directions and maintain safety. + Port-o-johns available for use on site.
* Please Note: No plug-ins, no sewage, no water.

How It Works:
+ Parking opens at 5pm Friday on Festival Weekends and closes 5pm on Sunday post-festival. (Timing subject to exceptions as mandated by each festival).
+ Space Size approximately RVs: 10 x 30 and Campers: 10 x 20.
+ Campers may arrive anytime during the weekend but if you leave the Urban Campground with your RV – there is no re-entry. + Pop Ups and Campers can be towed in but cars/trucks must park in the parking garage located next door.
+ Gas/propane grills permitted away from vehicles or combustible areas. Charcoal and/or open flames strictly prohibited.
+ Pets in areas or on leash are allowed. NO BARKING!
