Parks Foundation Calgary (PFC) is a unique, nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of all Calgarians. PFC works in partnership with government, corporations, communities, and private individuals to create and enhance outdoor parks and green spaces. In its 29 years, the nonprofit has focused on maintaining Calgary’s heritage and natural beauty, ensuring new parks and open spaces are developed, amateur sport is encouraged, and that the local ecosystem is preserved.
Its larger projects have included one of the first and largest outdoor skate parks (Shaw Millennium Park) and an all-ability recreation facility (Calgary Rotary Challenger Park). Its biggest and latest project, the $65 million Rotary/Mattamy Greenway, is a 138-kilometre network of natural spaces, pathways, parks, and playgrounds encircling Calgary. The Greenway will be linked into more than 1,000 kilometres of existing pathways, making it the longest urban pathway and park system in the world. For more information on Parks Foundation Calgary, please visit www.parksfdn.com.
