Activity Directors Network Celebrates A Successful Year Of Going Green

April 15, 2014 - PRLog -- Livingston, Texas – The past year’s implementation of sustainable actions has been rewarding for Activity Directors Network (ADN), a family-owned business that provides online career certification education and other services to activity professionals within the healthcare setting. In 2012, the company joined the Green Business Bureau, which a national membership organization that uses an online assessment to certify green businesses.

ADN’s recycling program is one of its latest successful green initiatives. The program allows colleagues to dispose of their aluminum, plastic and paper products in separate bins to be delivered to the recycling center rather than a landfill. In their effort to conserve paper, an online record keeping system has been created that renders filing cabinets and the hours spent filling them a moot point. All employees speak highly of this earth-friendly change; not only is it good for the environment, but also it frees up time allowing for more creative endeavors. Productivity and the quality of work at ADN have risen significantly and the staff is re-energized, especially by the reduction of inner office paperwork.

ADN’s sustainable business practices are enhanced by their outdoor environment, a heavily wooded area of Texas near the company’s headquarters in Livingston. As Sheryl Bacon-Jones, Enrollments Coordinator & Partner, states, “It serves as a constant reminder of our devotion to our environment. We try to do as much as we can to work towards this cause and encourage our students to do the same. We believe every positive step in this direction adds up.”
