Silence Is Listening: A Performance Based Protest

NEW YORK - April 15, 2014 - PRLog -- Who: Women Solidarity Movement

What: An important event is taking place in which approximatley 20 women will stand together in stillness and silence, bare-chested and their mouths taped representing the oppression and objectification against the female gender in society.  The performance will last anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes.

When: April 19th 2014 at 12 00 pm

Where: The risers in Time Square NY, NY

Why:  This is our movements first performance based protest, which is meant to be a statement on how the voices of women today are not heard, and that their bodies have been exploited in the name of capitalism.  Not only is this offensive to women, destructive to young children, and devestating to female confidence, but it also largely influences violence against women.

*Our organization will be contacting galleries and museums to invite them to our event.  We have photographers, videographers, journalists, and supporters come out to see us Saturday.  We hope to have as much public attention as possible so please, we welcome all to come out and document this special event.
