Mark Marmo Nominated for Pittsburgh Business Times 2014 Energy Leadership Award

ZELIENOPLE, Pa. - April 7, 2014 - PRLog -- Deep Well Services President Mark Marmo is a nominee for the Pittsburgh Business Times’ 2014 Energy Leadership Award.

The Energy Leadership Award honors people and companies for their outstanding contributions to the Western Pennsylvania’s energy sector. With more than 21 different nomination categories to choose from, the Energy Award will honor all of these categories which include natural gas, oil, coal, nuclear, and wind and solar.  The winners will be announced on May 8, 2014, at the Energy Gala.

Marmo leads Deep Well Services (DWS), a locally-owned oilfield company which specializes in Marcellus and Utica well services in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. With more than 20 years of financial, operational and managerial experience and eight years in the oil and gas industry, Marmo took on the role as DWS President in April 2013.  Under his supervision, DWS employs 75 people, while including 25 snubbing personnel and 30 service rig employees. DWS on average has 15 years of service in this Marcellus and Utica industry.

         This May, Marmo and his team will make an addition to their services by adding a new state-of-the-art equipment, which will potentially increase their number of employees to 100 and their number of snubbing personnel to 45 individuals.

         DWS has been a leader in this industry as it continues to utilize the most advanced equipment and the latest technology. DWS currently has three of the industry’s newest snubbing units, which are handled by the most experienced snubbing crew in the Appalachian region. Marmo has helped DWS build one of the newest fleets in the field, which is unique to the Appalachian Basin.

         Since DWS has kept a high reputation as a dependable and reliable service, they have had the privilege of working with the nation’s premiere oil and gas leaders, which include: XTO Energy, Chesapeake Energy, Gulfport Energy, NiSource, Inc., and WPX Energy, just to name a few.

         Even with constant advancements in technology, Marmo and his team continue to follow their motto,  “Mission First, Safety Always.” DWS recently expanded its HSQE Department by 200 percent with the addition of a new management team. DWS is also currently a member of ISNetworld, where it has maintained an “A” rating. In 2013, Marmo and his team gave more than $300,000 in capital to different safety programs.
