— A resident and business owner of Greensboro, NC, was recently honored for his achievements in the fields of communication and leadership. Angel Guerrero was presented the Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) Award which recognizes the pinnacle of achievement in the public speaking organization Toastmasters International. Less than 1.0 percent of all Toastmasters members reach this level. Guerrero joined Triad Toastmasters club in June 2009 and set a goal to earn the DTM within 5 years. He accomplished his goal in less than that by earning 7 prerequisite communication and leadership awards, completing a “High Performance Leadership Project” in the community, holding a district officer position by serving as area governor and coaching a club that needed support.
“Developing public speaking skills has taken me out of my comfort zone and provided opportunities in my professional and personal life which benefit my business and community. I can better serve my community by communicating and leading effectively,”
Guerrero is currently a member of Carolina Christian Toastmasters club which he helped charter in June of 2012. Carolina Christian Toastmasters club meets every Tuesday at 7:15 am at Lawndale Baptist Church, 3505 Lawndale Drive, Room 236, Greensboro, NC.
