"While U W8 #MBTA Late", an evening at the Lily Pad featuring musicians who would be equally at home giving late night concerts on the T. If the T is concerned about increasing ridership on their extended Friday and Saturday nights, here's the recipe: provide a relaxed atmosphere (no sardine cramming) where entertainers of the caliber of Gene Shinozaki & Max Jackson, Keytar Bear, and Ben Golder-Novick make the experience of waiting an upbeat scene .... not a drag.

Shinozaki, Jackson,Keytar Bear,andGolder-Novick will join house band Dirty Water Brass Band for a night of live performance that will show the T what it takes to increase their passenger-base. Great entertainment for the cause of bailing the T out of debt, increasing ridership with satisfied customers happy to drop their wallets into the musicians' hats!

Further event information:

Gene Shinozaki (beatboxer) & Max Jackson (didgeridoo) will perform a completely improvised set, and will use effect pedals to manipulate their sounds to bring in an electronic element. The main genres they tend to play are House, Funk, Ambient, and Dubstep. Samples of the work: www.youtube.com/gvsbeatbox, www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fnp-AndMvY, www.soundcloud.com/moncrey

Ben Golder-Novick (multi-instrumentalist) utilizes a looping machine to loop all of his instruments and perform both original and cover songs as a one-man band. The songs exhibit a primal groove and have been described as "lo-fi guttah funk." These songs are displayed on his latest solo EP, "Lucky Star." More on his work can be found at www.benthesaxguy.net, www.youtube.com/benthesaxguy13, www.reverbnation.com/rpk/bio/1183900, to name just a few.

Keytar Bear, the mysterious bear busker, has way too many youtube links. For starters: www.youtube.com/watch?v=8c6m3GQdJN0, www.youtube.com/watch?v=qeHYo7LU6Wc, www.youtube.com/watch?v=81PSxf0eVk8. Folks are starting to keep track of him via this fan page, www.facebook.com/welovekeytarbear.

Dirty Water Brass Band has played around New England and enjoys making contemplative spaces less so. They refer to themselves as a visual band, since they're pretty energetic to watch. www.dirtywaterbrassband.com
