General Martin Dempsey to speak at “Military in Transition” America’s Future Series Symposium

DALLAS - March 30, 2014 - PRLog -- – H. Ross Perot Sr., the America’s Future Series and the Association of the United States Army North Texas Chapter will be hosting a 5 Star Award Luncheon and Military Symposium at the Dallas Hotel Intercontinental, a two-part event that will precede the Greater Dallas Military Foundation’s 50th annual military gala.

Featuring a keynote address delivered by Gen. Martin Dempsey, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Symposium is free and open to the public and will discuss the need for grassroots programs enabling access to proper health care, quality educational opportunities, and meaningful employment for our returning service personnel and their families.

The AFS 5 Star Awards Luncheon precedes the symposium and will honor corporate leaders and those firms who support our military in these key areas. Hosted by H. Ross Perot and joined by executive panelists Matt Rose (BNSF), Rick Edwards (Lockheed Martin), Todd Maclin (Chase Bank), Wayne Goldberg (La Quinta Inns & Suites), and John Garrison (Bell Helicopter), the panel discussion will focus on health care, education and meaningful employment for returning service personnel, with a marked focus on what corporations are doing to assist in the transition and reintegration of our service personnel into civilian communities as we draw down the military over the next few years.

Leaders such as H. Ross Perot, Sr., Chairman Martin Dempsey, the CEO’s of BNSF, Chase, Bell Helicopter, La Quinta Inns & Suites and Lockheed, Clint Bruce, Admiral Patrick Walsh, Melanie and Marcus Luttrell and others in one room at one time focusing on the what and how of supporting our military says a lot about the region and the great State of Texas.

A 5 Star Award Ceremony will honor the panel following the round table discussion after which the most recent recipient of the America's Future Series Megellas Award, Carry the Load founder Clint Bruce will be concluding the awards ceremony by presenting a Megellas Award to former United States Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell and his wife, Melanie.

"The 5 Star Award Luncheon and the AFS Military Symposium are our way of honoring heroes like Marcus and Melanie Luttrell, business leaders who are stepping up to help meet our Veterans' needs and worthy causes that help employ, educate, house and reintegrate military personnel into civilian life,” continued Hamilton. “We want to shine a light on people and programs that are truly making a difference. We also want to share ways this community can actually get involved and contribute."

In addition to the round table participants and the awards recipients, other featured guests in attendance include Admiral Patrick Walsh, 7-11 executive vice president Jesus Delgado-Jenkins, the Center for Brain Health founder Dr. Sandi Chapman, Student Veterans of America CEO D. Wayne Robinson, Jack Lowe of TD Industries and Texas State Senator Ken Paxton.
