Hundreds of Industrial Hygiene Professionals Join ABIH’s LinkedIn Group

LANSING, Mich. - March 17, 2014 - PRLog -- At the end of 2012, the American Board of Industrial Hygiene launched a LinkedIn group which has been growing steadily since its inception.   LinkedIn groups have become popular with the industrial hygiene community and thousands of Industrial Hygienists have joined groups sponsored by the ACGIH, AIHA and ABIH.

Today, there close to 300 million users of LinkedIn, the internet’s largest social media network for professionals.  This includes professionals from 200 countries and territories.  A popular feature of LinkedIn for its users is the over 2 million groups, such as ABIH’s, that allow people to communicate and share information about various topics relevant to certain professions.

Those who joined the American Board of Industrial Hygiene’s LinkedIn group during its early days have witnessed the growth of the group.  Today, well over 400 people belong to the group and it has become a popular destination to learn about new developments at ABIH, updates about the Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) program, and for sharing information, ideas and opportunities with industrial hygiene and environmental, health and safety professionals from across the globe.

“We invite all CIHs and others in the profession to join ABIH’s LinkedIn group,” said Lynn O’Donnell, CIH, Executive Director for the American Board of Industrial Hygiene.  “Using LinkedIn and other social media tools has been a great way for disseminating information and allowing those involved with industrial hygiene activities a place to network and learn from their peers.”
