Evangelical Press Association rejects membership application for Heartbeat Christian News

ATHENS, Tenn. - March 16, 2014 - PRLog -- Heartbeat Christian News is a highly respected, independent Christian newspaper based in Athens, TN. In print locally and worldwide at http://www.theHBCNews.com. Their mission statement is to help ALL Christians regardless of their confession of faith or where they go to church. In addition, to help those who don't know the Lord to find Him and to help those who have known the Lord and fallen away, to find their way home.

Recently, in an effort to expand recognition for Heartbeat Christian News and to strengthen their position in the international Christian community, HBC News applied for membership with the Evangelical Press Association.

After 3 weeks of deliberation, the Evangelical Press Association decided to deny membership based on the following fact. That HBC News did not agree with this point in their Doctrinal Statement "We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit." Even though their is no scripture to support such a doctrine, 1John 5:7

"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.", nor does it have an impact on the mission statement of the existing members of this organization.

The staff of HBC News was saddened by such a decision considering point 7 of their Doctrinal Statement says "We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.". Heartbeat Christian News will continue to pursue other avenues of publicity for the sake of helping those hungry for THE truth to find this God ordained publication. Praise the Lord!
