TAMPA, Fla. - March 11, 2014 - PRLog -- (Tampa, Florida) Green Locus, a Tampa yoga studio in the Westchase community, is offering free a weekly yoga class to cancer patients and their caregivers on Thursdays from 4:45 to 5:45 starting March 13, 2014. Simply titled, Yoga for Cancer, the class is geared at creating a therapeutic environment geared for relaxation and stress relief.

Green Locus, owned by Melissa Irvine, is a yoga studio that’s mission is to create an environment where everyone can go to yoga regardless of their condition. The Yoga for Cancer class is geared towards cancer patients and their caregivers, focusing less on a vigorous physical practice and more on on breathing techniques, visualizations, positive affirmations, and light exercise for tension relief. While not a cure for cancer, Irvine believes yoga can assist in making the treatment and recovery process more bearable through yoga therapy. Classes alternate between Melissa Irvine and Trisha Barry.

To take the class, attendees should consult with their physician beforehand. Advance registration is available through the Green Locus website is available at www.greenlocusyoga.com. Attendees should wear comfortable clothing and a yoga mat is required to practice. Guests are welcome to bring their own or yoga mats are available to rent for a $1 donation.
