Angels’ Coach Don Baylor Joins Lineup For First Ever "Baseball City" In Phoenix March 15 and 16

PHOENIX - March 10, 2014 - PRLog -- Baseball City - the largest and only interactive Spring Training event in the country- today announced that former Colorado Rockies and Chicago Cubs manager and 19 year MLB veteran Don Baylor will participate in this weekend’s inaugural event  which takes place Saturday, March 15 and Sunday, March 16 at the Phoenix Convention Center. Baylor is currently the hitting coach for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, and will be conducting a kid’s clinic and fan session on Sunday.  A percentage of all ticket sales will go to Make-A-Wish-Arizona.

Baylor’s addition solidifies a roster that also includes Hall of Famers Ferguson Jenkins, Gaylord Perry, Orlando Cepeda , San Francisco Giants 2012 World Series Champion Pablo Sandoval and Salvador Perez, All-Star and gold glove catcher for the Kansas City Royals. Others participating will be former Seattle Mariners designated hitter Edgar Martinez, former Dodgers and Padres All-Star Steve Garvey, Martin Prado and Aaron Hill from the Arizona Diamondbacks, Chicago White Sox power hitter Adam Dunn,former All-Star slugger  Jose Canseco and many others will also be leading clinics and taking pictures with fans.

The Giants Pablo Sandoval and All-Star Russ Ortiz will lead private clinics for Make-A-Wish Arizona wish kids and families. Kansas City Royals stars, Billy Butler and Salvador Perez, San Francisco Giants hurler, Ryan Vogelsong, Olympic Medalist and Colorado Rockies pitcher Brett Anderson, and two-time All-Star Scott Kazmir, are among the many other stars scheduled to attend throughout the weekend.

Over 60,000 square feet of the Convention Center will morph into a field of dreams for enthusiasts of all ages. Fans will experience what it’s like to ‘hit it out of the park’ at the Home Run Derby field before they head over to learn how to throw a world class fastball just like the pros at the Speed Pitch station. Attendees will also be able to meet with premier baseball vendors showing the latest training and equipment tools.

A host of inaugural brand activation platforms will also be part of Baseball City. Participating sponsors will include Marucci Sports which will unveil their Club Marucci experience, and Snapcall, a new live gaming and interaction fan platform along with: Pepsi / Gatorade, Kind Snacks, Shock Doctor, 9 Zones Baseball, Eagle Eye Electronics, Geico, 5 Hour Energy,  Lids, Pro Glider Bats, Schutt Sports, Eat The Ball,  Triple Crown Sports, Zinger Bat, The Hitting Jack-It, GIANTS Sunflower Seeds, Pocket Radar, Max Bat,    GameSigns, Franks Sports Shop, AG Sports Collectibles, Under Armour,  Visit Phoenix (Phoenix Visitors Bureau), the Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Coyotes, Sheraton Phoenix Downtown.
