NYC Re-Tails & Sales Expo on February 19, 2014 HUGE Success

NEW YORK - March 5, 2014 - PRLog -- On Wednesday, February 19^th, retailers, media and vendors joined together for the NYC Re-tails & Sales Expo ‘Made in America’ event. This first time ever boutique pet expo, showcasing American crafted and sourced pet products, was held at Honda of Manhattan in New York City.

The event kicked-off at 11:00am with a live performance of the "Star Spangled Banner" by Megan Cooper and a short speech from Craig M. Rexford, the Publisher of Pet Age Magazine. This event was the perfect opportunity for pet retailers in the New York City and surrounding areas to meet the makers of fabulous American-made pet products. Retailers came from distances including Boston, CT, NJ and Long Island to see shop “Made in USA” for their pet stores.

After a beautiful performance of the national anthem and a motivational speech from Pet Age as well as a call in from Jill Rappaport, attendees were ready to begin the event! A total of 18 vendors took part in the pet expo totaling $35,000 in product sales throughout the day.

Participating vendors included Diamonds in the Ruff Ruff, Life is Gruff, Dogs Love Kale, Zelda’s Song, Harness Lead, Galileo’s Organic Catnip Toys, Pet Plus, Pet Portables, Fresh and Fluffy, Dr. Harvey’s, Primal Pet Foods, Dr. Emmo’s , Bessie and Barnie, Earth Animal, Groovy Gravy, Critter Zone USA, PetSafe, Chasing Our Tails and Made in the USA, Certified.

At 6:00PM, non-retailers, media and vendors joined together for the Pet Industry Happy Hour to benefit Foster Dogs NYC. Attendees enjoyed Sixpoint Beer, wine, snacks and Walker’s Shortbread Cookies networking, and 'paw-tied' the night away! Raffles and games took place and a few lucky winners walked away with some great pet product prizes. Although this was a free event, the pet industry happy hour raised $180 for Foster Dogs NYC.
