Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the door for adults age 21 and above, and sponsorship opportunities, with the proceeds benefiting people diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. “We’re inviting everyone to come out and have a great time at a fun event, but there’s a serious purpose behind it,” said Mika R. Shearer-Strejcek, founder and CEO of the United Rheumor Arthritis Society. “Our goal is to raise awareness through events like this, as we strive to make the lives of those affected by juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis a little better by providing them with the tools they need to live a more pain-free life.” Tickets can be purchased online at the “events” section of www.urasociety.org or by calling (855) 355-URAS (8727). The silent auction will end at 8 p.m., when the raffle prize-winning ticket will be drawn. All those who purchase admission tickets will receive a free raffle ticket. Shearer founded the United Rheumor Arthritis Society in September of last year. She is committed to helping to find a cure for juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis by raising funds for research and spreading awareness through fundraisers, galas, and special events. She has spent the last 15 years in the healthcare industry and was previously co-owner of a home healthcare agency. The United Rheumor Arthritis Society’s programs are designed to raise awareness about rheumatoid arthritis and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis on a local and global level, thereby helping in the prevention, research and funding of new medical treatments and medications and provide assistance to those suffering from rheumatoid arthritis regardless of their race, ethnicity, or religion.
