Chartway Federal Credit Union Announces 25th Annual Directors’ Memorial Scholarship Program

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Feb. 28, 2014 - PRLog -- Virginia Beach, VA (February 28, 2014) – Chartway Federal Credit Union and its divisions of HeritageWest and SouthWest Community, today announces that it is now accepting applications for its 2014 Directors’ Memorial College Scholarship. This year, the credit union and its divisions will award eight student members with $2,000 scholarships, totaling $16,000 in academic aid.

Now in its 25^th year, the scholarship program annually awards scholarships to deserving student members pursuing graduate or undergraduate degrees, or those returning to complete their degrees at a college or graduate school. Recipients are selected on the basis of need, activities, academic performance, an essay, and letter of reference. Interested applicants have until April 18, 2014, to submit an electronic application, located at www.Chartway.com/promotions.

The Director’s Memorial Scholarship program was created in 1989 by its board members in recognition of the credit union’s success.  Since its inception, the credit union has awarded more than $160,500 in student scholarships to its members.
